Top-notch concrete training for bridge construction
Tjeka is training more than 20 members of this construction team in Lesotho in quality concrete workmanship. This includes steel fixing; shuttering; and in-situ concrete placement, as well as how to manufacture high quality precast-concrete elements. They are also receiving Hazmat training.
The proper training that that these employees are receiving from skilled artisans will help contribute to quality construction of two bridges in Mapholaleng. Stringent quality control throughout construction is critical in ensuring that concrete infrastructure performs as expected and achieves its long design life with minimal maintenance and repairs.
Skills such as these have ensured that concrete remains the preferred material for bridge construction around the world, providing durability; aesthetics; cost-effectiveness; reduced building methods; and rapid deployment techniques.
"The road to success is always under construction."
