Our NQF4 Supervision of Construction Processes (Civils Foreman/Supervisor) Concrete Structures learnership develops the gatekeepers for quality, safety and compliance. Serving as the eyes and ears on the ground, supervisors are a lynchpin for project success.
To register for this qualification, learners must be competent in NQF3 Communication, as well as Mathematical and Computer Literacy.
Supervision of Construction Processes qualification
Holders of a Supervision of Construction Processes qualification (SAQA) possess the following competencies:
- An understanding of contractual legal requirements and an ability to execute documentation
- An ability to calculate construction quantities and develop a work plan
- An understanding of environmental initiatives and how to implement them
- An understanding of the structure, stakeholders and role of the construction industry
- An ability to implement quality management systems

- An ability to interpret construction drawing and specifications and execute this information
- An ability to supervise on-site health and safety
- An ability to administer the procurement, use and storage of construction materials
- An ability to set out construction work areas
- An understanding of various civil-construction materials and how to deploy them
- An ability to oversee concrete operations
- An ability to organise and deploy plant and equipment
- An ability to plan, organise and control the erection, alteration, repositioning and dismantling of access scaffolding
