Plastering
Our plastering portable skills training equips individuals with the basic skills that they need to pursue plastering as a profession. These can be developed further through workplace experience or further training.
This course teaches the technical proficiency needed to be a plasterer. Among others, this includes a detailed understanding of materials and techniques to ensure durable and aesthetically pleasing finishes.
Plastering portable skills
Individuals who have completed our plastering portable skills training possess the following skills:
- An ability to prepare plaster mixtures with the correct consistency. This involves an understanding of lime, cement, sand and water ratios.
- An ability to prepare base surfaces using various techniques, such as cleaning, smoothing or applying bonding agents.
- An ability to apply plaster in even layers using techniques for flat surfaces and intricate designs. The desired finish is achieved with trowels, hawks and floats.
