Driver portable skills training imparts the basic skills needed to operate effectively as a commercial driver.
In November 2021, about 7 450 trucks passed through the Tugela toll plaza. This equates to as many as 251 trucks per hour. There were also more trucks than cars on the N3 for 10 months of 2021. Despite the impacts of the pandemic, trucks on the road increased by 30%. As the economy has recovered over the past five years, the demand for quality road transport logistics services has increased significantly.
This has resulted in dire shortage of competent commercial drivers, a situation that is strangling economic growth.
